The Township of Chisholm is seeking to fill the permanent full-time position of Chief Administrative Officer / Clerk-Treasurer.
Located 30 minutes South East of the City of North Bay and 3 ½ hours north of Toronto, Chisholm boasts the natural beauty of Wistawasing (Wasi) Lake, close proximity to Algonquin Provincial Park, endless ATV and snowmobile trails, two modern parks and recreational areas and an abundance of farmland. It has everything for the outdoors enthusiast : camping, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking and golfing – all within a naturally beautiful and comfortable country setting and only a short trip away from the city. RESPONSIBILITIES
- To implement council's decisions and establish administrative practices and procedures to carry out council's decisions;
- To undertake research and provide advice to council on the policies and programs of the municipality;
- To perform the duties of a clerk as required under the Municipal Act or any other Act;
- To handle all of the financial affairs of the municipality on behalf of and in the manner directed by council;
- To exercise general control and management of the affairs of the municipality for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the municipality;
- To promote the municipality's mission, vision and values and operationalize its strategic goals;
- To carry out other duties required under the Municipal Act, or any other Act, and other duties assigned by the municipality.
QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary Diploma / Degree in public administration, accounting, finance, business administration or related disciplineAssociation of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario 'Municipal Administration Program' certificate or ability to acquire within a specified timeframeMinimum 5 years municipal administration (or related senior level) experience in a managerial capacityDemonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation and municipal frameworkStrong leadership, management, analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact, diplomacy and sound judgementDemonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage projects, translating vision and strategy into tangible results and outcomesStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience with municipal public works an asset.Compensation Range : $87,866 to $96,438 annually plus competitive benefits and pension package
