Description
Our government client is seeking the services of a Risk and Security Officer who is fluently bilingual and holds a valid government of Canada security clearance.
Duties
- Act as a point of contact, resource,provide training and be an advisor to ESS, NRCan employees
- Work collaboratively with the Earth Sciences Sector Security(ESS) Assistant, the ESS Business Continuity Officer, the ESS Manager of Administrative Services, with the maintenance contractor SNC Profac and with other contacts in the employees within the Security, Safety and Emergency Management Division of NRCan.
- Develop plans and recommendations to ensure appropriate security programs are in place.
- Assess requirements for organizing and providing awareness and training sessions related to security.
- Investigating security incidents.
- Implement actions in response to threat and risk assessments (TRA).
- Provide advice and guidance to senior managers.
- Ensure a secure environment which includes laboratories and facilities within a Federal Public institution
Qualifications
The Temporary Security Officer must have :
- Successfully completed secondary school
- Security Requirement : SECRET.
- 3 years experience in developing plans and recommendations to ensure appropriate security programs are in place.
- 3 years experience in implementing physical security programs.
- 3 years experience in implementing personnel security programs.
- 3 years experience in assessing requirements for organizing and providing awareness and training sessions related to security.
- 3 years experience in investigating security incidents.
- 3 years experience in the implementation of actions in response to threat and risk assessments (TRA).
- 1 year experience in a security environment which includes laboratories and facilities within a Federal Public institution
The Temporary Security Officer must have knowledge of :
- Government policies and directives related to the development and provision of a security program and emergency response.
- Current trends in safeguarding information and assets.
- Government administrative policies in the areas of human, financial and material resources.
- Security investigation methodology.
Temporary Security Officer must have the ability to :
- Work on-site in an NRCan office
- Use Microsoft software applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Provide advice and guidance to senior managers.
- Effectively communicate in writing using standard Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Prepare briefing notes and provide advice to all levels of management.
- Prepare and present information for example PowerPoint presentations.
- Meet deadlines and provide prompt service response to clients.
- Adapt and deal effectively with urgent or sensitive situations and shifting priorities.
