Our client in Windsor, ON is looking for a Quality Specialist – PSP. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do

The North America Cross Car Line organization is currently seeking a solutions‑oriented Project Quality Specialist to join the Top Hat, Platform and Modules team at the U.S. Headquarters and Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The Project Quality Specialist is responsible for developing and executing standardization of manufacturing quality enablers. The candidate must be a creative problem solver, proactive and steadfast in the identification and resolution of vehicle quality. The engineer will manage cross‑functionally and possess a broad knowledge of the entire automotive engineering, manufacturing and quality landscape and present outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills. Responsibilities include performing root cause analysis of quality issues, using advanced problem‑solving tools (Kepner‑Tregoe, Shainin Red X, Design of Experiments, etc.), recommending and implementing cost‑effective permanent corrective actions. The engineer will analyze quality data from internal and external indicators, manage engineering changes with a cross‑functional team to ensure timely execution, conduct product evaluation tests to ensure robustness of product or process change before full implementation, and will be the point of contact for engineering quality and all product‑related incidents. The engineer must have a proven track record of developing and executing standardization and experience with cross‑functional responsibilities in a lean organization. The engineer will plan, prioritize, set goals and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment, and must possess strong communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership. The engineer will establish partnerships internally and externally, be able to influence without direct authority, and represent the Voice of the Customer to the platform teams while contributing to driving team success by clarifying expectations and minimizing political hurdles.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Reactive Black Belt and Green Belt training and completed projects.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Powertrain Manufacturing or Engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years Powertrain Quality experience.
  • Thorough understanding of Engines & Driveline components.
  • Thorough understanding of client quality and supplier operations.
  • Thorough understanding of structured problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to stand and be on your feet for long periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on, doer attitude.
  • Knowledge and capability in using Office Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Self‑oriented.
  • 100% onsite position.
  • No vehicle driving required.
  • Some travel required (0‑20%).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Black Belt or Green Belt certification.
  • Experience launching engine programs.
  • Manufacturing, design release, and / or supplier quality experience.
  • Knowledge of engines, transmissions, and driveline components.
  • Experience working in a lean / flat organization with cross‑functional skills.
  • Work with internal teams to develop and implement integrated content to drive growth and maximize customer value.
  • Provide creative thinking to the analysis of data and identification of new opportunities.
  • Ability to lead without direct authority.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build partnerships both internally and externally.
  • Capable of planning and prioritizing, including managing multiple projects and determining project urgency and creating action plans.
  • Experience and ability to follow ISO / TS16949 and APQP processes to launch and monitor engine manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing standardization, especially within the area of Powertrain.
  • Outstanding teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • High‑energy, hands‑on individual with strength of convictions and leadership presence.
