Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator - 12 month contract

PURPOSE :

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the smooth operation of the environmental, health and safety program for Green-Port as well as the safe operations within the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES : ( The incumbent may be asked to perform any combination of the following functions, which are subject to change as deemed by the owners at any time to adapt to company needs.)

H&S Excellence Program (prev. Safety Group) / COR

• Research legislative requirements and procedures
• Attend all webinars, prepare Action Plans and reports, evidence story for topics
• Write, develop, communicate and train on policies with completing forms

H&S Training and Development

• Update Training Manual as needed
• Review and complete Hazard Assessments for priority and assignment
• Organize internal or external training for WAH, TDGA, First Aid, COR programs
• Maintain Training records and certifications
• Conduct annual WHMIS training and assure timely SDS updates
• Update Training Matrix to include Prequal site requirements

Joint Health and Safety Committee

• Chair meetings
• Prepare agenda, minutes and distribute
• Prepare Safety Talks
• Follow up on all action items
• Prepare inspection and meeting schedules

WSIB Claims Management

• Complete forms for RTW and injury follow up (exit meetings on RTW evaluation), and contact logs
• Update records as needed such as claims, injury reports and first aid treatment for injuries
• Review all medical injuries, manage reports, file WSIB claims, prepare RTW Plans and
• meet with RTW Specialist as needed
• Complete online, prepare and update contractor compliance and supplier information management system requirements i.e. ISNetworld, RAVS Plus, Contractor Compliance, Avetta, Contractor Check and others as required.

Review annual requirements : MECP, ECA’s, PM’s, etc.

Continue to participate in environmental and health and safety policy creation

Pandemic Requirements (If needed) :

Responsible for Pandemic protocols when required.

Requirements

• University Degree or College diploma in Business or experience in the area of Health and Safety compliance
• Minimum of 3- 5 years of Health and Safety and Compliance experience
• Experience in working with external systems (ex. ISNetworld) to maintain compliance Remove redundant
• A willingness to learn and be cross-trained within Green-Port’s Env and H&S Systems
• Certification in First-Aid / CPR Emergency Care would be an asset
