Job Description

  • Optimizing equipment reliability through diagnosis and enhancements, which will lead to a reduction of maintenance costs;
  • Improving plant equipment by implementing a program of advanced maintenance methodology including predictive and preventive maintenance techniques, and failure analysis to recommend operational, maintenance, and process changes so as to maximize equipment reliability, availability and life expectancy;
  • Conduct analyses and investigations to determine relative reliability with regard to such factors as cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, availability of materials and equipment, and determines the ability of the product to comply with customer and contractual requirements;
  • Develop the analysis methods for establishing reliability of company products and their components, prepares sketches, charts, drawings or reports for further developments;
  • Other duties as assigned by management;

Qualified candidates must support and drive a continuous improvement environment.

Required Skills

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;
  • 4+ years of experience in a plant or design engineering role;
  • Reliability Engineering experience including Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, Root Cause Failure Analysis, Process Design and Reliability Centered Maintenance a plus;
  • Industry background in paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc., preferred;
  • Forensic engineering tools and solid troubleshooting mindset;
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, material handling equipment and machine design, understanding of air compressors, understanding of hydraulic systems, bearings and lubrication;
  • knowledge of mechanical integrity of systems, a mechanical aptitude & strong analytical abilities;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of plant, technical and management personnel;

Knowledge of heavy mobile equipment

such as Front End Loaders, 25+ ton Haul Trucks and Tractors used in industrial manufacturing environments) is a plus.
