Job description

Mold Masters is hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist to support our operations in Georgetown, Ontario. The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products, services, and processes consistently meet internal, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This position oversees auditing, monitoring, and evaluation of manufacturing and operational processes, supplier and vendor quality performance, and finished goods integrity. The role supports continuous improvement by identifying defects and deviations, resolving quality issues, and maintaining systems and standards that ensure timely delivery of compliant, high‑quality products. The position requires professional proficiency, the ability to solve non‑standard quality challenges, and effective self‑management with periodic supervision.

What You’ll Do

  • Measure and record, as required, all dimensions to drawing specifications, and provide disposition of parts that do not meet specification.
  • Operate and program CMM machines.
  • Calibrate various gauges to known standards, including database administration.
  • Read and understand drawing requirements.
  • Apply testing best practices using hand tools to validate machined components.
  • Maintain organizational skills; accurate data collection, storage, and retrieval.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Learn and use quality ERP system (SAP).
  • Manufacture tight‑tolerance parts.
  • Achieve rework and scrap reduction goals and at least 95% on‑time inspections performed for the value stream.
  • Calibrate basic tools to known standards.
  • Maintain 5S standard and autonomous checklist.
  • Communicate to operator and / or supervisor when nonconformity is found; email Quality Supervisor / Engineer on repetitive issues.
  • Maintain records of all inspections performed according to established procedures.
  • Support tool calibration efforts by notifying Production Supervisor of upcoming or overdue status.
  • Make recommendations for productivity and / or method improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety program, including emergency response.
  • Ensure ISO 9001 : 2015 guidelines are followed; follow job instruction sheets and tag procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma and / or post‑secondary education.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in inspection.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T).
  • Desire for 7+ years’ experience including blueprint reading and comparing parts and assemblies to customer requirements.
  • Good computer competence including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
  • Analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
