Summary

The Operations Engineer provides engineering solutions in support of safe and reliable operations and regulatory compliance. They promote “right-sized” engineering design, creative solutions, and consistency through engineering design principles and expertise.

Accountabilities (Duties & Responsibilities)

• Provides project scoping, prioritization, and may provide cost and schedule estimates for Maintenance and MOC projects.
• Act as a key contributor to the identification and mitigation of risk.
• Ensures priorities being driven by consistent application of risk assessments.
• Identifies and recommends changes or projects to improve asset performance in terms of reliability, safety, environmental performance, efficiency, and net revenue.
• Provides technical support on Basis of Design, project scoping / problem statements, and engineering drawings and work packages on maintenance capital projects.
• Provides onsite technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization support to operating facilities.
• Acts as initial technical point of contact and support for Operations and Maintenance teams, involving internal / external support as required.
• Provides Turnaround and Shutdown support.

Supports good engineering practices by : Recommending solutions to technical challenges and to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Consults with other internal (and external) experts, Project Engineers / Managers, Operations and engineering contractors during FEED, detailed process engineering design, and start-up activities on assigned projects.

Ensures regulatory compliance for all engineering activities performed.
