Baker Tilly Ottawa LLP is looking for an experienced, motivated, and client driven individual to join our tax services team.
We are seeking a candidate to assist us in providing excellent client service, ensuring all aspects of our client’s tax compliance needs are met, providing clients with tax planning opportunities and researching and resolving complex tax related issues.

Your primary responsibilities will include :
- Review the tax filings (including T1, T2, T3 and T5013 returns) prepared by staff to ensure all tax related matters have been adequately addressed.
- Offer tax planning services to clients.
- Research tax issues and prepare memoranda.
- Identify client service opportunities.
- Participate in special engagements
- Enhancing existing and developing new community relationships and networks.
- Manage staff in the tax group and provide daily guidance, coaching and developing their tax knowledge.
- Supporting and mentoring firm staff in respect of tax matters.
- Preparing and presenting technical sessions for staff.
A successful candidate will have :
- 3 5 years plus of progressive public accounting experience with a tax specialty and a professional designation.
- Successful completion or in the process of completing the CICA In-depth tax course.
- Sound technical knowledge of Canadian tax related issues.
- The ability to provide value-added service to our clients.
- Good technical knowledge of GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
- Computer skills including Caseware and Taxprep.
- Strong understanding of a client-focused environment including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
- Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
