Position Title : Analyst, Energy Marketing

Overview

As a key member of the newly formed R360 organization, the Energy Marketing Analyst is responsible for analytics in R360’s facility supply and optimization, working closely with various internal and external stakeholders.

The Energy Marketing Analyst will be responsible for the development and maintenance of various internal models and analytics supporting business optimization and opportunity development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, run and maintain analytical and optimization models, including calculation and analysis of monthly prices, profitability, pipeline tariffs and transportation costs, quality adjustments and other KPIs.
  • Monitor and interpret market dynamics to ensure optimization of R360’s asset network, identify potential opportunities to improve utilization and profitability
  • Make recommendations around forecasting, alternate movements and optimization as well as reconciliation of actual values
  • Monitor volume movements and quality, troubleshooting any variances and providing logistical support as needed
  • Support externally facing commercial team with producer bids, providing netback analysis and recommendations
  • Provide analytical support for business development opportunities
  • Build relationships through networking with industry customers and partners to understand key business drivers, developments and anticipate industry trends
  • May perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in an Energy Marketing role preferred, with knowledge of industry fundamentals and pricing
  • University degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, database and spreadsheet skills are essential

You are a highly analytical person with strong quantitative skills, coupled with excellent attention to detail. You are able to work independently and to be a cohesive team member.

You are adept at financial modeling, data analysis, and interpreting market trends. Key qualities include self-motivation, proactivity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration with various stakeholders. The role requires someone who can think critically, make informed recommendations, and adapt quickly to market changes.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a drive for high performance, strong organizational skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for management.
