Summary

Rundle is seeking to hire an exceptional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead a small, high-growth B2B technology company.

We are looking for a rare breed of leader; dynamic, accomplished, well-rounded, and ready to achieve extraordinary things in a challenging role.

The CEO will take over from a retiring founder, and their passion for running a business, delivering results, building teams, and fostering innovation will be essential to the company's continued success.

This role will report to the Company’s Board of Directors, chaired by Rundle’s Managing Partner, Ian Black.

Your Mission as CEO

  • Build an exceptional company; loved by its customers and employees
  • Drive 5x growth in revenue while maintaining healthy margins.
  • Lead the company to its next stage of growth, potentially through an acquisition or sale

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Performance : Oversee all financial aspects of the business, ensuring profitability, healthy cash flow, and sustainable growth.
  • Growth : Spearhead sales and marketing efforts, acting as a player-coach to accelerate the company’s go-to-market.
  • Innovation & Product Development : Lead the ongoing improvement of the company’s current products, and develop new products to win future opportunities.
  • Board Engagement : Work closely with the Board of Directors, providing regular reports and seeking guidance on strategic decisions.

Engage Board members, Founder, Investors, and Advisors in areas where they can contribute to the company’s success.

  • Operational Excellence : Ensure efficient and effective operations across all functions, optimizing processes and implementing best practices.
  • Team Building : Recruit, develop, and retain a strong team capable of executing the company's strategic plan.
  • Strategic Vision : Develop and articulate a compelling strategy for the company's growth and evolution.
  • Leadership and Culture : Inspire and motivate the team, fostering a high-performance culture that values customer service, innovation, and accountability.
  • External Relations : Represent the company in the industry and community, building strong relationships with customers and potential partners.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Passionate, Highly Motivated & Results Orientated : Ready to take on a CEO role and lead a company through 5x growth
  • Financial Acumen : Strong financial management skills and a deep understanding of how to deliver healthy profits and cash flows.
  • Proven Leadership : Experience starting or growing something, managing a P&L and leading a team.
  • Sales Excellence : Exceptional sales acumen with the ability to be a player-coach, and build a go-to-market model and team
  • Business training : 5+ years of early-career experience at a top-tier firm in strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, or similar.
  • Operational Rigor : Proven ability to drive efficiency and process improvement.
  • Communication : Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data-Driven : Comfortable analyzing data yourself to make informed business decisions.
  • Adaptable & High Integrity : Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while always acting with integrity.

Compensation, Location & Travel

We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary, cash bonus, and equity. The bonus and equity components are intended to be a majority of the compensation and are significantly tied to company performance in a way that rewards exceptional results.

The CEO can be based anywhere in Canada. Regular travel, likely 1-3x per month, will be part of the role.
