Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Shift Engineer to join our team in a cold storage facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and hold at least a 3rd class stationary engineer designation.
This role is critical to ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our facility’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor and Maintain Equipment : Oversee the operation of ammonia refrigeration systems and other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs : Diagnose and resolve issues with refrigeration, HVAC, and other facility systems promptly to minimize downtime.
- Preventive Maintenance : Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
- Safety Compliance : Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and protocols, particularly those related to ammonia handling and storage.
- Record-Keeping : Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance.
- Team Supervision : Lead and supervise a team of technicians and mechanics during the assigned shift.
- Emergency Response : Act as the first point of contact for any emergency situations related to facility systems and coordinate appropriate responses.
Qualifications :
- Experience : Minimum of 7 years of experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems in a cold storage or similar environment.
- Certification : Must hold at least a 3rd class stationary engineer designation.
- Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with a focus on ammonia refrigeration.
- Problem-Solving : Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team Leadership : Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Safety Awareness : In-depth understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to ammonia and cold storage environments.
