Cell Test Engineer – Lorien
Apply for the Cell Test Engineer role at Lorien – currently offered as a contract position in Windsor, Ontario.
Base pay range : CA$44.00 / hr - CA$46.00 / hr.
Job Responsibilities
In lab launch stage :
- Complete required training; follow safety requirements.
- Work on test preparation and setup.
- Develop and validate test scripts and reports.
- Ensure hardware and software support needs are addressed during installation of equipment and set up of the lab.
- Support the commissioning of cell test equipment.
Lab in full operation :
Develop and execute test plans for cells, including performance and safety testing.Keep test requestors informed on status of all running tests, report intermediate results regularly.Ensure reports are delivered in a timely manner and of the highest possible quality.Work with automation engineers on verifying test scripts prior to execution.Work with data engineers on test data processing, analysis and visualization.Ensure all work procedures and tests comply with lab safety requirements.Support root‑cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing.Attend cell and module engineering meetings, support meeting assignments.Ensure all training requirements are kept up to date.Escalate issues to management as needed.Job Requirements
B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Engineering and Testing.Knowledge of Lithium‑ion battery chemistry, working principle, characterization, and performance.Knowledge of Lithium‑ion battery components.Practical skills of common laboratory tools and instruments.Experience of setting up, maintaining, and monitoring tests according to test procedures.Capability of large test data processing, analysis and visualization.Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.Legally eligible to work in Canada.Preferred Requirements
M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Experience in Lithium‑ion battery R&D, Engineering, and Manufacturing.Knowledge of up‑to‑date Lithium‑ion battery technology.Experience with Lithium‑ion battery testing; knowledge of cell test methods and specifications, such as USABC battery test manuals.Experience with battery cyclers, data acquisition systems, and EIS measurement.Experience with DVP&R test plan execution.Demonstrated ability to work in a unionized environment.Prior experience or knowledge of ISO 17025 or 9001 accreditation.Benefits
