Brief Description
The Lifeguard – Swim Instructor is responsible for monitoring the safety of participants located within the Vollmer Culture and Recreation H2Oasis Aquatics Centre and the LaSalle Outdoor Pool. The Lifeguard – Swim Instructor is also responsible for delivering high quality instruction in accordance with the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life, and the Lifesaving Society Leadership programs.
Requirements
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet the public, respond to inquiries, and provide a high standard of customer service.
- Collect payments from customer as required.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all aquatics patrons in accordance with recognized regulations and established policies and procedures.
- Provide safe, enjoyable swim and lifesaving lessons, and instruct participants at the appropriate age and activity level.
- Communicate with aquatics participants, parents and / or guardians as required.
- Maintain a pleasant, safe, and sanitary swim environment in order to avoid foreseeable accidents.
- Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Complete all required reports such as attendance, accident / incident reports, statistics, etc.
- Respond to all incidents, accidents, and / or emergencies in accordance with established standards.
- Participate in meetings and in-service training as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
