Job Description

Our client is a manufacturer of converting equipment for the plastic film industry - Machinery that seals, separates, folds, winds, cuts, plastic film and bags. Machine manufacturing

This position is to ensure the success of their packaging machinery projects through engineering design, implementation, and testing of the machinery controls.

Position : Electrical Engineer

Payrate : Open payrate

Dayshift : 7am-4pm Mon-Fri

Location : Brampton, ON ( / Orenda)

Permanent after 3 months of probation

Key Responsibilities Include :

• Write code to control machine motion per requirements
• Problem solving and solution recommendation
• Provide engineering support to customers
• Support the testing and installation of equipment
• Support continuous improvement efforts
• Assist with training of internal and external customers
• Provide support to the Customer Technical Service department

Requirements

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of education and / or experience
• Knowledge of programming practices
• Knowledge of motion and timing
• Mechanical, controls, and electrical system knowledge
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic components
• Experience or training with PC’s servos, and PLC’s
• Previous experience with Rockwell
• Automation / Allen Bradley products preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to visualize concepts
• Ability to accept assignment broad in nature
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate with a variety of people both verbally and in writing, including presentation skills
• Self-starter, creative and problem solver
• Ability to work independently and execute a plan
• Ability to travel up to % of the time
