What you can expect :

We currently have an opening in our Langley office for a Corporate Legal Administrative Assistant. This role requires an individual who is organized, effective at multi-tasking and detail oriented, with strong communication and people skills.

Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to :

  • Performing conflict searches, opening files, completing client identification / verification and preparing retainer letters;
  • Tasks related to commercial transactions, including but not limited to : due diligence searches, interim and final due diligence reporting, reviewing and formatting Co-ownership Agreements, Leases, Shareholders Agreements, Share Purchase Agreements and Asset Purchase Agreements, drafting closing documents, coordinating electronic signatures, and attending to closings and payouts.
  • Preparing trust deposits, trust cheque requests, trust transfers, investment deposits and redemptions, billing and generating monthly WIP and AR Reports;
  • Sending and receiving letters with or without enclosures, as well as with or without courier;
  • Calendar organization for lawyers including scheduling telephone, video conference and in-person client meetings, booking boardrooms and setting up virtual meetings using Zoom and Teams; and
  • Other administrative duties as required.

What we are looking for :

  • Minimum 3 years’ of experience as an LAA in a busy corporate practice
  • A Legal Administrative Assistant certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Familiarity with DocuSign and myLTSA
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in independently and in a team environment

Compensation

The typical salary range for this position is $52,000 - $72,000. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related skills / knowledge, experience, and internal and market equity.
