The Position

The Secretary-Treasurer, as the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of the Board of Education and Childcare, fulfills the responsibilities and requirements of the Secretary-Treasurer as outlined in the School Act and Regulations.

They have responsibilities in the following specific areas : Corporate Secretary Chief Financial Officer Facilities and Property Management Student Transportation Human Resources Management Administrative Procedures Organizational Management Communications and Community Relations Executive Team The Secretary Treasurer must carry out all duties with transparency, accuracy, clarity, and close attention to detail, with a high level of personal, professional, and organizational integrity.

Compensation The base salary for this position is $169,061.00, based upon qualification and experience; or $160,607.00 without a CA designation.

The candidate will have the ability to positively and proactively represent the district with rights holders, parents, unions, the B.

C. Ministry of Education and Childcare, local government and community.The selected candidate will have at least five years of successful senior level financial and business management experience with the ability to share and report financial information to ensure effective decision making.

Ideally, the candidate will have worked in the education field and will hold significant accounting training and experience.

It would be most desirable for the individual to hold a professional accounting designation. Familiarity with PowerSchool Atrieve and the BMW budget program would also be an asset.
