Job Overview
Join the WSP Buildings team located in our Thornhill office, based 3 days per week. You will collaborate with Senior Engineers to apply plumbing, drainage, HVAC and fire protection design knowledge across commercial, residential, institutional and retail projects. This diverse, challenging role requires familiarity with construction contract administration processes and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Provide design, calculations and technical support for the layout of plumbing, HVAC and fire protection systems in retrofit or new projects.
- Complete engineering studies and assessments with accompanying reports.
- Convert markups into working CAD or Revit MEP drawings.
- Compile and prepare specifications relevant to each project.
- Manage communications with clients and other consultants.
- Lead coordination efforts with other disciplines or consultants, and oversee quality of deliverables.
- Review shop drawings and respond to requests for information during construction.
- Prepare change notices, change orders and payment certificates as part of contract administration.
- Conduct site surveys during investigative / design phases and complete routine site reviews during construction.
- Assist in preparation of proposals and fees.
Qualifications and Experience
Professional Engineer licensed in Ontario.5+ years of experience designing plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems.Well versed in applicable codes and standards including Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA.Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP.Good working knowledge of MS Office and Excel.Self‑motivated with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.A "can do" attitude, able to work independently and in a multi‑disciplinary team environment.Ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads and expedited timelines.Ability to manage multiple projects.Benefits and Culture
