Location : Windsor, ON

Compensation : $75-110K + benefits + annual bonus

In search of a Product Designer with 5-10 + years of professional experience designing and developing whole instrumentation products with similarities to consumer devices but for industrial, aerospace and medical applications. This role is highly hands-on and focused on mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and optimization.

Will work closely with Engineers, Project Managers, and production teams to create designs that are functional, manufacturable, and meet quality standards. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on solving engineering challenges and translating ideas into robust, real-world products. Should be able to work from simple sketches and clean sheet design documents.

Job Description

• Develop detailed mechanical designs for new and existing products, from concept sketches to final production drawings.
• Perform calculations related to design with mastery of practical fit, function and tolerance.
• Assist with material selection, and tolerance analysis to ensure product performance and manufacturability.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings utilizing SolidWorks.
• Build and test prototypes to validate mechanical performance, durability, and user requirements.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs meet production capabilities and cost targets.
• Investigate and resolve mechanical design issues during development, production, and post-launch stages.
• Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback from hardware / software engineering, quality, and customer support teams.
• Stay current with advancements in materials, manufacturing methods, and mechanical design best practices.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
