Civil Superintendent

Salary: $150,000 - $175,000

As the Superintendent, you report to one of Hall's General Superintendents, with responsibility and oversight of a construction project site, with the goal of executing profitable capital construction projects. The Superintendent provides the exciting opportunity to work on some of the highest-profile construction projects in British Columbia. Partnering closely with site leaders, Project Managers/Coordinators, and on-site engineers to ensure the quality of the projects meets Hall standards and is completed on time and within budget. The Superintendent leads on-site construction operations regularly with Foremen, and company leaders to ensure safety, cost control, and accurate scheduling are all top of mind.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review site schedules and work with dispatch to allocate crews.
• Collaborate with management and field staff on all aspects of the job.
• Review all time sheets with coordinator for accuracy and approval daily.
• Co-ordinate with Superintendents to coordinate equipment needs and utilization.
• Ensure that purchase orders and requisitions for all materials and supplies are completed daily.
• Provide input where needed on candidates in the running.
• Communicate hiring needs to General Superintendent.
• Attend project closeout meeting to ensure successful completion of projects.
• Review all time sheets with coordinator for accuracy approve daily.
• Work with leadership and PMs on work schedules.
• Review build productions for each task with Foremen and other site leaders.
• Be a progressive, collaborative, and dynamic leader and communicator. Positively guide direct-reports and staff

members in project planning and execution.

• Report frequently to the relevant General Superintendent, on construction schedules, stakeholder issues andpotential solutions, staffing and budget.
• Implement best practice construction methods.
• Delegate, supervise and assign work to staff members.
• Propose budget recommendations in partnership with General Superintendent.
• Be a subject matter expert on all phases of construction project execution, displaying operational excellence every step of the way.
• Prioritize team member cohesion, collaboration, and communication.
• Effectively manage internal/external conflict and solve complex construction problems.
• Successfully assess and manage all construction operational risks, requesting support where needed.
• Promote Hall culture amongst work colleagues, departments, and job sites.
• Proactively coach and develop direct reports, Foremen, providing training, development goals and facilitate

performance reviews.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Strong leadership in construction operations.
• Identify the specific needs of the owner and other stakeholders to ensure that they are met on all projects.
• Read and understand blueprints, specifications, schedules and cost reports.
• Resource allocation to meet construction schedule and complete projects on time and on budget.
• Monitor project and people performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and proposesolutions.
• Strong business acumen.
• Ability to drive process improvements.
• Excellent project management and operational execution skills.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

• Ability to inspire, motivate and lead team members.
• Proactively liaise with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Possess strong leadership competencies to direct and execute all aspects of project planning andexecution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Years of experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in civil construction, trades or arelevant field.
• Education: Post secondary training in a relevant field, considered an asset.
• Designations: Gold Seal, PMP considered an asset.
• Proven, progressively senior experience demonstrating operational excellence across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working in a unionized environment considered an asset
