Position Overview
The Traffic Foreman plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating all traffic-related logistics for construction projects at Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. This position is responsible for setting up and maintaining temporary traffic lane closures on roads, ensuring safe traffic flow during construction or maintenance work by properly placing traffic cones, signage, and barriers, while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations; their primary focus is on directing traffic and maintaining a safe work zone.

Job Duties
- Setting up and tearing down lane closures and worksites. This includes placing traffic cones, signage, and barricades to effectively divert traffic into designated lanes during lane closures
- Conduct inspections of lane closures, detours, construction sites and barriers to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Assist in setting up and maintaining traffic control plans for construction zones
- Identify Traffic Control requirements for sites / projects and report issues / site needs to traffic supervisor
- Monitor road conditions and report any issues that require immediate attention
- Work closely with construction teams to coordinate lane closures, detours, and safety measures
- Coordinate Traffic Accommodation Plans as required
- Ensure all work meets local, city or provincial regulations for road safety and construction
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of lane-related equipment
Requirements
Previous experience as a Lane Technician or Traffic Control Coordinator is preferred. Lane Technician or related field experience at minimum. Must have a deep understanding of traffic control regulations / standardsKnowledge of traffic control plans, roadway safety, and construction regulationsExperience with City of Calgary Traffic Control requirementsPhysical ability to work in various weather conditions and perform manual laborProficiency in using traffic control software and equipmentValid Class 5 Driver LicenseAbility to work weekends, and overtime as needed for construction projectsBenefits
