Internal Logistics Coordinator
NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Services is currently searching for an Internal Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This position can be based in Acheson, Calgary, or Grande Prairie, Alberta.
The Internal Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the intricate logistics involved in the transportation of heavy equipment including cranes and oversized loads. Responsibilities :
- Crane Logistics : Provide logistical support to branches and the corporate office for crane moves, including coordinating the transportation of cranes purchased from points beyond internal operations, ensuring seamless customs compliance for Canada / US reporting, providing technical assistance to Branch Managers for large crane movements, and working with approved third-party carriers to facilitate efficient transportation of cranes to their destinations.
- Trucking Logistics : Create comprehensive load plans and loading / unloading scheduling for distribution to managers and dispatchers for review and approval and generate and distribute internal trucking rate sheets.
Facilitate internal trucking arrangements providing all the necessary requirements to ensure seamless operations and consistently advocate for the utilization of internal resources over third-party vendors when mobilizing cranes, promoting efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Approved Transport Companies : Review and recommend third party transport companies for approval including insurance certificates of carriers to ascertain motor cargo coverage limits, assessing carrier fleet size, experience levels, DOT profiles, compliance certificates, and HSE Manuals.
Evaluate newly approved transport companies via feedback from Branch Managers and Site Supervisors on service, quality, reliability and pricing.
Streamlined Logistics Coordination and Procurement Process : Craft and distribute load plans and corresponding schedules to dispatch for review, scheduling confirmation, and pricing assessment.
Provide detailed requirements, and subsequent Purchase Orders including all the necessary information for approvals.
Qualifications :
- Experience within the Transportation and Logistics industry required.
- Previous experience organizing freight transport required.
- Previous experience working with and / or pulling permits and knowledge of load bans within Western Canada is required.
- Previous experience with cross-border shipments between Canada and US required.
- Must have working knowledge of Canada / US custom requirements.
- Experience pulling permits for over dimensional and / or overweight loads considered an asset.
- Previous dispatching experience considered an asset.
