In conjunction with the Project Team and the General Superintendent, the Superintendent is accountable for delivering excellent project execution and customer service in line with the complete understanding and support of the identified project drivers.
This role will be based in Saskatoon and start in December 2024. It will be a 1-year contract for the Avenue Living project, with the possibility of extension.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Leads and implements all aspects of Clark Builders Safety / Building LIFE program
Ensures proactive project safety management and security practices in keeping with the Clark Builders Safety & Loss Prevention program and applicable legislation
Partner with the Senior Project Leader on the delivery of the project; ensuring all project drivers including safety, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction are achieved
Lead teams through all phases of construction such as preconstruction, project site set-up and logistics
Plans / reviews the construction program with the Project Manager and Business Development / Estimating staff including procedures, temporary facilities, construction procedures, equipment and manpower
Champion and implement LEED and Last Planner strategies on the project to support ongoing continuous improvement and achieving project efficiencies
Manage employee performance and development, give constructive feedback and support recruitment
Participate in Clark Builders University (CBU) initiatives to further personal growth and knowledge base
Act as a liaison between Field Operations and other departments
Support the Project Manager in project forecasts and oversee project financials
Participate in month-end project reviews
Plan / facilitate field trade meetings to ensure project metrics are achieved
Reviews all plans, specifications and project documentation for the purposes of discrepancies and constructability review
Work with the Project Team in the development of the Project Master schedule
Utilizes Last Planner System and 3-week look-ahead to manage on site schedules, resources, trade commencement and material deliveries
Plans, coordinates and participates in the project completion and handover process.
Ensure QA / QC is managed and documented to demonstrate compliance with the Contract documents
Proactively maintains required training to meet the expectations of the role as outlined in the CBGOC HSE Training Standards Matrix
Skills & Knowledge :
Leads and manages resources and Clark Builders onsite workforce to maximize productivity
Directs and facilitates training of the Clark Builders' workforce
Participates and contributes to individual and team performance feedback discussions
Strong knowledge of building envelope
Experience with renovation-type projects
Promotes positive morale and encourage growth opportunities through leadership responsibilities
Maintains good relations with all project stakeholders and the public
Ability to foresee, pivot and adjust strategies and behaviors in order to maximize project success and educate others in this scope
Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills required to interact with a variety of stakeholders including project team, trade partners, consultants, clients, and the general public
Outstanding communication, organizational and supervisory skills with ability to manage complex and numerous competing priorities
Strong working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word & Project
Proven skills in an interview to support project pursuits
Builds and aligns a team to a common goal in challenging situations
Demonstrates / implements conflict management skills and decisive decision-making skills combined with the proven ability to consistently find creative win-win solution and / or resolutions
Qualifications :
5+ years trade experience or relevant post-secondary education
5+ years superintendent / relevant project site leadership experience (on-site experience mandatory)
Journeyman trade certificate or relevant post-secondary education
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Knowledge of all Prime Contract and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, and relevant key drivers
