Our THUNDER BAY BRANCH has an exciting opportunity for a SHIPPER / RECEIVER to join our team!
What You Will Do :
The Shipper / Receiver is responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, packing and shipping orders, managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. You will work with your branch team members to deliver a high-quality customer experience that exceeds customer expectations through the following tasks :
Accurately receive incoming product and match the quantity of items received to the shipping documents
Prepare shipping documents for outbound products
Package, label, and ship customer orders, verifying order accuracy before shipping
Inspect stock items for wear or defects and report any damaged or missing stock to management.
Replenish inventory items in designated warehouse storage bins
Cross train with delivery driver role to assist branch operations as needed
May receive, sort, and organize worn brake shoe cores for shipping to our remanufacturing facility
May secure cargo to a vehicle (manual or forklift)
Other duties as assigned
What We Require :
Must have 1 year of general warehouse experience, shipping and receiving, or order picker experience using an RF Scanner or barcode gun, combined with a high school diploma or other equivalency certificate
A valid driver’s license and a recent driver’s abstract demonstrating no major infractions and minimal minor infractions, as defined by Company standards is required
Must be comfortable working in a dusty and dirty environment with repetitive lifting of 20-25 lbs.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements : Lift up to 75-100lbs, frequent standing and walking, reading small print and numbers
Experience operating a forklift, using a RF scanner and familiarity with aftermarket parts or heavy-duty parts is preferred but not required
Occasionally required to work Saturdays and overtime to meet business demands
Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard office equipment
Excellent customer service skills
Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal
Team-oriented, adaptable, with a commitment to safety excellence
