Plasman Tilbury Manufacturing , 24 Industrial Park Rd, Tilbury Ontario is immediately seeking a new member to join our team as :

MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for coordination of activities associated with the Maintenance department to ensure efficient and optimal productivity of our operations at Plasman.

This will be completed by engaging the team of technicians through a collaborative effort to provide support and expertise to all aspects of our operations related to the Maintenance department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :

  • Supervise the activities of the Maintenance Department and organize equipment & manpower requirements to support business efforts
  • Review and analyze the data on all maintenance activities such as optimization of uptime and reduction of downtime to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Utilize emaint software and promote utilization of this across the facility .
  • Organize equipment and manpower to meet the preventive maintenance schedule(for WM3 develop & maintain the PM schedule) and coordinate the repair and maintenance activities for all plant equipment and the facility.
  • Maintain critical spares in the crib..
  • Report maintenance KPIs (MTTF and MTBF) for monthly reporting statistics, and corrective actions to meet the KPI targets.
  • Ensure that all personnel are working in compliance with the Quality and Business Operating System and all relevant health and safety & environmental legislation.
  • Be an example to all employees in all areas of the business through demonstrated professionalism and the ability to make accurate and timely decisions.
  • Meet company requirements for annual completion of all subordinate's performance evaluations or performance discussions.
  • Provide information as required for monthly reporting statistics.
  • Ensure fire suppressions system is maintained as per Fire Safety Legislation and Ontario Fire Code.
  • Ensure building maintenance per building code(s).
  • Support Engineering requests for equipment installation, movement and run power drops for new equipment as required.
  • Maintain / create where applicable all reports and / or forms for maintenance department following current ISO / IATF 16949 or ISO 14001 standards.
  • Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO / IAFT 16949 (includes ISO 9001) Standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • During management system audit events provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures and participate in corrective action activities as necessary.
  • Responsible for upholding all lift truck safety requirements and may include being a designated trainer (where required).
  • Promote an atmosphere of teamwork at all times
  • Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained.

MINIMUM EDUCATION / OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS :

Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed some or all of a College level program or equivalent work experience in the field of Maintenance / Facilities Engineering.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must have at least 5-7 years experience in materials in a management capacity, and / or Facilities Engineering with preference given to those who have 8-10 years experience.
  • Established work experience in the field of Maintenance.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a Supervisory role.

Understanding of expectations detailed through Organization Statements, Standards, Visions, Policies and Procedures (i.

e. Mission, Values, Code of Conduct, Operational, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety) as referenced in Employee Handbooks and communicated through Orientation and / or other training awareness opportunities

  • Additional training requirements may be identified based on plant-specific location (municipality / province / state / country) and / or operational needs that are commensurate with the duties, expectations and responsibilities of the role within the specific plant
  • Ability to perform well in high pressure situations
  • Possess sound financial and business insights
  • Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process.
  • Capable of independent travel to, from and within designated regions
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Must be capable of performing the essential duties which include maximum safe lifts to the 75th percentile of the employee as determined by acceptable standards
  • Must be able to be a leader to all employees
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
