PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION IN SQUAMISH VALLEY (Onsite)

Are you passionate about creating employment and training opportunities that empower Squamish Nation members? The Sts'its'áp'new̓as Employment & Future Skills team is seeking a dedicated Program/Outreach Officer to coordinate impactful programs that help our members achieve their full potential. This role combines financial oversight, program coordination, and community engagement - all while honoring Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values of self-determination and cultural pride. What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and track employment and training programs, ensuring they meet funding requirements and community needs
  • Manage program budgets, including cash flow tracking, expense coding, and financial reporting
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage Squamish Nation members in employment services
  • Research and analyze industry trends and training needs through community surveys and consultations
  • Mentor and support junior program staff in administration and coordination tasks
  • Build relationships with training institutes, employers, and community partners
  • Provide direct client support including work gear, transportation assistance, and follow-up services
  • Organize and participate in career fairs, workshops, and community events
  • Track participant outcomes for up to 6 months post-program completion
  • Prepare monthly activity reports and program statistics for management and funders
  • Uphold wenáxws (respect) and snew̓íyelh (teachings) in all program activities

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in program coordination, employment services, or financial administration
  • Strong budget management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to research community needs and develop responsive programs
  • Excellent mentoring and leadership skills to support junior staff
  • Knowledge of employment and training programs for Indigenous communities
  • Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for community outreach
  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends for special events when needed

Salary: $62,500 - 87,500

Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. Weare committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
