We are currently in search of a Controller to join our team. Reporting to the CEO, the Controller is responsible for directing, administering, and coordinating the internal operational activities related to Finance and Accounting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management, Contract Administration, and other administrative functions within Points Athabasca. Ensures Company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities :

• Directs and coordinates company financial planning and budget management functions.
• Oversees daily operations of the finance and accounting functions.
• Works with the Executive team to develop the business plan for the company.
• Prepares financial analysis for contract negotiations.
• Performs financial modeling functions to support business decisions and acts as an advisor to senior management.
• Directs financial audits and provides recommendations for procedural improvements.
• Coordinates year-end accounting requirements (tax return preparation, audit).
• Oversees operations in connection with financial matters including accounts receivable and payable, production, billing, collections, and auditing.
• Oversees the compilation and generation of all company financial records.
• Responsible for banking and cash management.
• Administers employee group benefits and pension plan.
• Prepares financial analysis.
• Reviews financial and operational performance and reports to the President and CEO / V P.
• Produces reports including reconciliations with funders and pension plan requirements, as well as financial statements and cash flow projections for use by Executive management and the Board of Directors.

Risk Management :

Qualifications / Skills :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or related field with 7-10 years’ experience. CPA designation is an asset.
