Operations Project Manager - Heavy Vehicles Maintenance
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Project Manager with a focus on heavy vehicle transit bus maintenance to join our team.
The ideal candidate will possess PMP certification along with extensive experience in project management within the heavy vehicle or transit bus maintenance industry.
As an Operations Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the team for evaluating, prioritizing / coordinating, scheduling & invoicing against transit bus Work Orders.
This includes strategizing process improvements to ensure timely completion of tasks by all team members.
Responsibilities
- Manage and communicate risks, resolving issues with cross-functional teams as they arise.
- Maintain a broad team calendar to track internal and external meetings.
- Drive change initiatives to increase team productivity, managing velocity and intake.
- Proactively manage issues and risks.
- Oversee medium-large projects within the operations segment, product line, or function.
- Foster relationships with key external stakeholders to optimize collaboration.
- Coordinate responses to requests for project-related information.
- Ensure compliance with contract specifications for on-time delivery of tasks and deliverables.
- Coordinate technology integrations with multiple third parties.
- Oversee test functions for one or more lines of business.
- Research existing operations, procedures, workflow, and product and service requirements.
- Develop and execute internal communication initiatives.
- Lead planning routines including Annual Business Planning and Long-Range Planning.
- Develop project plans with clear timelines and deliverables.
- Maintain risks log and mitigation plans for projects.
- Generate management reporting and maintain effective document control and continuously identify process improvement opportunities.
- Identify and develop new operation projects based on business development and operational needs.
Skills and qualifications
- Relevant business administration experience.
- Experience with project management for maintenance services of heavy vehicles, preferably transit buses.
- Proven experience managing teams of 5 members or more.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct management experience.
- Proven conflict management skills.
- Ability to act as a liaison between technical, financial, and administrative team members.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Experience with work order management.
- Knowledge of Oracle systems.
- Language proficiency in English is a must; bilingualism with French is an asset.
Required experience
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
