Lawyer - Sports Law

YOUR ROLE :

As a Lawyer, you will be the first point of contact for the analysis of dispute resolution files.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Examine complaints and requests, gather the necessary information and carry out an initial assessment;
  • Put together files;
  • Prepare communications for the parties;
  • Communicate recommendations to the manager;
  • Attend stakeholder meetings as required;
  • Prepare reports and other documentation;
  • Participate in the process of transferring files to assigned managers;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of operations procedures;
  • Any other related duties.

SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • Postsecondary studies in law or in a related field;
  • University degree in law, a major asset;
  • Member in goodstanding of a Canadian Bar Association, an asset ;
  • Relevant experience in a similar role or knowledge of a legal or judicial environment;
  • Experience in human rights (e.g. criminal law, youth protection) is an asset;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Analytical skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Bilingualism, spoken and written;
  • Interpersonal skills, discretion, team spirit.
