We are looking for an experienced Quality Supervisor to join a growing team in our Toronto office for the Ontario Line / RSSOM project.

About the Project

The Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM ) project is one of many contracts to deliver the Ontario Line, a 15.

6-kilometre stand-alone rapid transit line that will connect the Ontario Science Centre to Exhibition / Ontario Place.

The Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Supervisor shall be responsible for overseeing quality coordinators in the field and ensure the implementation of ISO 9001 requirements

Responsibilities

  • Oversees quality coordinators in the field and ensure the implementation of ISO 9001 requirements
  • Participate and support audits of the subcontractor quality and construction process
  • Provide leadership and support to the achievement of quality field delivery in keeping with client’s established goals and processes.
  • Manage document tracking, i.e. rebar inspections, concrete placement, compaction reports, etc. with team members and stakeholders
  • Responsible for the end-to-end implementation and preparation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for all construction activities.
  • Performs on-site quality inspections in accordance with project requirements
  • Inspects work in progress and / or completed to determine and ensure that the work complies with the standards and specifications
  • Review QA / QC sampling, testing of construction materials for acceptance and conformance with specifications and standards.
  • Participate in-house audit, performed supplier audit, maintained various quality submittals of subs, including various quality management plans & processes, collected QA deliverables, compiled individual reports, and maintained monthly KPI
  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of quality programs as required
  • Assists with the preparation and verification of various technical reports; including pre- and post-inspection
  • Identifies and reports work that does not meet the quality requirements
  • Collaborates with the project team to determine approaches & methods to improve the overall quality of work
  • Completes all associated documentation and forms for individual inspection
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of a cost of quality tracking system
  • Assist with the tracking of non-conformance reports and corrective / preventative action requests

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in Civil, Engineering, Architecture or related disciplines, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Minimum years of experience in Bridge, Highway, Buildings or other major Infrastructure project construction
  • Minimum 5 - 10 years’ experience in quality assurance role
  • Quality certification is an asset
  • Computer literate in MS Office (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Familiar with inspection techniques related to the construction industry
  • Proven ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the English language (Reading, speaking and writing)
  • Involvement in at least one Metrolinx- related project is an asset
