We are currently seeking Financial Services Lawyers to work with Canada’s largest in-house financial and banking institutions. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in financial services law, with expertise in providing legal advice and support to clients on a wide range of regulatory and transactional matters.
Responsibilities :
Advise clients on regulatory compliance matters related to banking, securities, insurance, and other financial services areas.
Draft and review a variety of financial services agreements, including loan agreements, investment management agreements, and insurance policies.
Represent clients in regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and compliance audits conducted by regulatory authorities.
Qualifications :
Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
Minimum of 4+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on financial services, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department setting.
Strong knowledge of Canadian financial services regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Act, Securities Act, and Insurance Act.
Preferred Qualifications (not required but considered advantageous) :
Experience advising clients on complex financial transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, capital markets offerings, and structured finance transactions.
Familiarity with emerging trends and developments in the financial services industry, including fintech innovations and digital banking initiatives.
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively advise clients and collaborate with internal teams.
