AGF rebar is a division of the AGF Group, a privately-owned, rebar fabrication and installation business specializing in industrial, civil and commercial projects.
Since 1948, AGF rebar has been one of Canada’s leaders in the supply and installation of reinforcing steel. Experiencing significant growth in recent years, AGF has expanded into BC where they are looking to build out their operations and presence.
Located in Port Coquitlam, AGF is looking for an experienced construction leader with strong business acumen to serve as their new General Manager.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the General Manager is responsible for overall operations in BC, providing the strategic direction for the business development, operations, and field installations for AGF.
Key elements of the role include driving new business using a strategic approach to the market, implementing best in class human resource programs that enhances recruitment, retention, engagement, and performance, and improving project delivery disciplines and efficiencies.
The General Manager will promote cross-departmental collaboration to optimize the current product services as it relates to all construction projects throughout the Lower Mainland.
Ideally a Professional Engineer, the preferred candidate will bring a track record of success in a management or operational role from construction services.
Previous experience managing field staff is mandatory. They are an excellent people leader with prior success in coaching, mentoring, and developing a multi-disciplinary team.
Knowledge of working with construction contractors will be beneficial. Has the demonstrated ability to develop complex bids and sophisticated business development strategies and lead teams that drive significant sales and margin growth.

The base compensation range for this position is targeted between $150,000 - $200,000 plus a bonus. The exact compensation range may vary depending on the candidate’s skills and experience.
