Position Title : Key Account Manager - Sobeys National

Reports To : Customer Director

Location : Markham, Ontario - Hybrid

Position Summary

  • Develop, manage, and achieve volume, profit and share objectives on all Smucker Consumer products within assigned account.
  • Build strategic relationships with customers to develop JMS brands in the Canadian marketplace.

Essential Job Functions Summary

  • Develop & implement annual business plans including volume objectives, trade investment budgets and strategies which are consistent with Smucker brand and corporate strategies.
  • Work closely with Customer, Team Leader, Category Strategy, Deduction Analysts and internal Smucker stakeholders to identify, develop and execute annual business building plans for the account.
  • Fully utilize all Post Promotion Analysis, Price Modeling and POS resources to better evaluate, plan and execute the business.
  • Lead strategic and insight‑based initiatives for assigned account by leveraging Category & Shopper Insight teams.
  • Achieve full line distribution for all Smucker products with emphasis on maximizing product volume and gross margin.
  • Establish and maintain frequent contact with account personnel, particularly merchandising, operations, supply chain and finance.
  • Achieve desired Accounts Receivable and Trade Investment goals through working closely with Smucker Trade Promotions personnel & Trade Finance.
  • Coordinate and communicate all relevant account priorities for retail sales team to achieve desired results through Acosta retail sales personnel (merchandising, pricing, distribution, pricing, planograms).
  • Perform Retail Audits in assigned account and competitive retailers to monitor execution of Smucker brands and competitive intel.
  • Report on all competitive and required information on a timely basis (ie. Weekly, Qtrly Reviews).
  • Work closely with the demand planning team to provide ongoing forecast requirements leveraging ongoing Shipment, Inventory & POS analysis.
  • Qualifications

  • Degree, diploma or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years Account Management experience.
  • Proven Leadership Skills and proven ability to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent negotiating, assessment and analytical abilities.
  • Proven ability to build and execute business plans with customers.
  • Fully competent with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Team and results oriented with effective written & communication skills.
  • Flexible, extended hours and workdays required basis meetings and demands of the business and customers.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Some extended travel required – 3 to 4 times per year.
