What We're Looking For
At MGA, how we show up in the world matters. The way we pursue work, tell our story, and connect with clients directly shapes the projects we get to take on.
We're looking for a Business Development & Proposal Specialist who will play a key role in strengthening how we identify opportunities, develop proposals, and communicate the value of our work.
This is not just a coordination role. It's a hands-on, high-impact position that brings together strategy, writing, design, and collaboration. You'll work closely with Principals, Studio Leads, and our Director of Communications to create clear, compelling proposals and support thoughtful business development efforts across the studio.
What You'll Get Up To
Proposals & Pursuits
- Lead the development and coordination of proposals (RFQs, RFPs, fee letters) from early strategy through to submission
- Shape compelling narratives that reflect MGA's design approach, values, and strengths
- Ensure submissions are high quality, on time, and aligned with client expectations
Business Development & Opportunity Tracking
- Identify and track project opportunities through various channels
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in CMAP
- Support Principals and Studio Leads in aligning pursuits with broader business development strategy
Marketing & Storytelling
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of marketing materials and collateral
- Support communications initiatives, events, and broader brand efforts
- Bring clarity and consistency to how MGA presents its work
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely across teams to gather inputs, align messaging, and streamline proposal processes
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, templates, and systems
- Contribute to a culture of shared ownership and support across the studio
What You Bring
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, marketing, or proposals, ideally within architecture, design, or a related industry
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging content
- Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in InDesign and a strong eye for layout and visual presentation
- Comfort working collaboratively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
- A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a willingness to jump in where needed
Why This Role Matters
This role helps MGA pursue the right work, in the right way. By bringing clarity, consistency, and creativity to our proposals and business development efforts, you enable stronger connections with clients and better outcomes for our projects and teams.
Who We Are
At MGA, we're curious, creative people designing sustainable spaces that matter. From cultural installations and private homes to campuses and community hubs, our work pushes the limits of technology and construction to benefit people and the planet.
But beyond the recognition, what drives us is simple: design has the power to shape how we live and the future we leave behind. That means creating work that challenges norms, thrives on collaboration, and keeps communities and the planet at the heart of everything we do.
Why You'll Love It Here
MGA is an equal opportunity employer. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package (including our one-of-a-kind Adventure Bonus!) and the opportunity to grow in a collaborative and creative environment.
We are looking for someone based in the Vancouver area to join our studio and work alongside a team shaping the future of architecture and design.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
