About the Opportunity

The Health Support Aide has an important role within the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine team and is responsible for helping with daily routines of care and to support patients / clients with activities of daily living.

The role will include : the swabbing of patients for COVID-19 and other support functions under the guidance and direction of licensed health care professionals.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following :

  • Grade 12
  • Any previous related experience or related education would be an asset
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures an asset
  • Current BCLS
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention preferred
  • Relevant first aid, first responder training i.e. St. John Ambulance course, HS lifeguard certificate, an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with patients / clients, hospital staff, public and referral sources
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Permanent, Part-Time position; 52.5 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$19.26 - $20.02 Hourly
