Key Information :
- Must have a minimum 1-2 years of experience operating directional boring equipment including a ditch witch.
- Must be able to operate boring (drilling) equipment for installation of underground utility lines and infrastructure.
- Hours : Project dependent. Overtime is required during the busy (April - October) season.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
- Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

Job Description :
Working under the general supervision of the Crew Lead, the Directional Driller is responsible for operating boring (drilling) equipment for installation of underground utility lines and infrastructure on projects throughout Alberta.Ensure operation of drilling equipment.Operate bore equipment. (ditch witch)Read and interpret plans or diagrams and perform required work.Communicate with co-workers for prep work and project coordination.Regularly perform Health & Safety inspection of equipment and tools.Follow equipment maintenance schedule and advise when repairs are required.Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned.Experience and Certification Requirements :
A valid Class 1 or 3 Alberta license or the provincial equivalent for province of residency is preferred.Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating directional boring equipment including a ditch witch required.English proficiency with the ability to read, comprehend, and execute written work plans.Strong communication skills and able to take direction.Able to work in a team to efficiently and effectively complete jobs within deadlines.Must be flexible in hours worked, traveling, and working in adverse weather conditions away from home.A valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.Must have CSTS 09 or 2020, WHMIS 2015, and ground disturbance 201. Fall protection, First Aid, and confined space would be an asset.A reliable means of transportation is required.Proficient English language skills required.Education : Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
