Job descriptionMust be able to operate heavy equipment (Mini Backhoe, Trencher, Winch, Compressors, Directional Drills etc.) and power tools (Power Drills, Concrete Saws) May need to use technical and diagnostic tools (cable locator, signal meter, TDR) Must be responsible to maintain a fit condition to bend, kneel and climb during the installation process Must be able to safely lift loads of 65 lbs Must have the flexibility to work in restricted and tight spaces Must be able to manage efficiently and ensure that deadlines are met to satisfy customer needs Must be able to apply due diligence ensuring accuracy in preparing and promptly completing all necessary documentation for projects and timesheets Must be well organized and be able to work well individually and as part of a team Must possess a valid Ontario (G and A-Z) driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company Must understand and practice defensive driving methods Will be accountable to work safely abiding by the rules of the Company, IHSA and Labor Canada standards Must wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment provided as job function dictates Must attend and participate in all required safety training programs Must identify all unsafe working conditions and not proceed with work if it endangers the technician, other workers, customers and / or the general public Must participate in all Health and Safety efforts Will set up and work safely on high traffic roads according to Book 7 standards Will work in all weather conditions, day, night, or weekends with possible overnight stays
EXPERIENCE : Knowledge and ability to work while making safety the number one priority is a must!
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Will execute work assigned, coach and supervise junior technicians and labourers
- Will perform work including box locating and directional drilling, installation of conduits for various cables, installation of pedestals and concrete bases, flushmount vaults and enclosures
- Will perform all other duties as required by departmental manager
