Job description

To join a team focused on the Mass Properties of Aerospace Commercial programs. Providing determination, prediction, management and monitoring of the weight, moments of inertia and centre of gravity of a variety of aerospace components across an entire aircraft.

You will get to further your skills in

  • Major project updates and early development activities as a key contributor to influence design.
  • Providing Mass properties support to all specialists within Engineering, including Liaison, Design, Stress, Aerodynamics, Avionics, Performance, Tech Publications and others.
  • Evaluating, developing and mature designs to determine their impact on air vehicle mass properties following industry best practices.
  • Producing Weight and Balance Reports and Loadsheets for Flight Test, C of A and delivery
  • Leading and document mass property analysis to support production, certification, flight testing, quality management, development and support activities, aircraft deliveries, customer support, sales and marketing.
  • Working with Integrated Product Team engineers to capture and maintain mass property data.
  • Providing regular updates to design and program management teams regarding weight and center of gravity.
  • Maintaining and / or evaluating partner / supplier weight reports to monitor the weight and center of gravity of the aircraft.

You will need to have

  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience as a mass properties engineer with significant additional experience within the Aerospace sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Aircraft Configuration, Structures and Systems integration technical requirements.
  • Strong across Mass Properties Analysis of Structure, Systems and Wiring
  • Have a good understanding and experience in supporting to Design and Stress Engineering, Production, Pre-Flight and In-Service.
  • Be familiar with the various aviation regulators such as TCCA, FAA or EASA.
