Job description

Ready to build your career? We want to hear from you.

As a Methods Coordinator working in the Alternative Projects Centre of Expertise (APEX) team at Pomerleau Construction, you will assist in the construction method development, contribute to temporary structure design, supervise model and plan production, and ensure compliance during installation at the construction site. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $ million to upwards of $1 billion - you will be the key provider for the technical support and insight during the proposal and estimating phases for potential new projects.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate closely with the Project Team and fellow Methods & Temporary Works (M&TW) Coordinators to efficiently allocate resources, ensuring seamless execution of M&TW mandates throughout Proposal and Implementation Phases.
  • Lead the preparation of comprehensive methods, work sequences, and equipment requirements during the Proposal Phase, guiding the initial design of temporary structures to align with project goals.
  • Partner with the M&TW Manager to delineate primary mandates for in-house execution versus subcontracting, establishing clear timelines for deliverables early in the Implementation Phase.
  • Define overarching construction methodologies in conjunction with the construction team, optimizing operational efficiency and safety on-site.
  • Coordinate the creation of essential project documentation, including site layout plans, lifting strategies, and specialized project-specific plans, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and refine phased work plans and temporary structure cycles, anticipating site-specific challenges and proactively addressing potential logistical issues.
  • Contribute to the design and specification of temporary structures, such as special formworks, pile-driving equipment, platforms, and temporary support systems, collaborating closely with engineers to ensure structural integrity and operational feasibility.

This role could be for you if you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or related third level qualification.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in civil engineering, construction methods and temporary works.
  • Previous relevant experience within a major organization for large-scale and complex projects (transportation, buildings, etc.).
  • Highly proficient with AutoCAD, Revit (BIM) and other relevant software.
  • Accustomed to work with project management software like Aconex, ProjectWise, etc.
  • The expected salary range for this opportunity is $90,000 - $120,000. Pleasenote that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience andgeographical location.
