With a proven track record of success and a commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability, they are looking for a Health & Safety Manager who is ready to take charge and lead safety initiatives on some of the most exciting and complex projects in the industry. Responsibilities
Oversee and manage a team of 10 Construction Safety Officers (CSOs), ensuring they have the support, training, and resources to perform at their best across all project sites.
Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs that align with both regulatory requirements and company policies, ensuring the highest standards of safety are met.
Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits, identifying hazards and working with the team to implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and site teams to develop and enforce site-specific safety plans tailored to each high-rise project’s unique challenges.
Lead the investigation of safety incidents, near misses, and accidents, compiling detailed reports and recommending solutions to prevent future occurrences.
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal health and safety regulations across all construction sites.
Foster a safety-first culture by providing continuous training and professional development opportunities for the CSO team, ensuring ongoing improvement in safety practices.
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, with experience in high-rise or large-scale commercial construction projects.
Relevant certifications such as CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional), NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer), or COR Auditor are a significant asset.
Strong leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to mentor and motivate teams.
In-depth knowledge of construction site safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
A proactive mindset, always looking ahead to identify potential safety risks and implement preventive measures.
