The CCA Edmonton Chapter is a volunteer-led charitable organization incorporated in 1984. We advocate for those affected by celiac disease and gluten sensitivity through education, awareness, and meaningful and engaging programs.
About the position
Reporting to the President and working closely with the Board, the Program Coordinator facilitates the chapter’s objectives in alignment with Celiac Canada’s national directives. The position raises awareness of Celiac Disease and designs and facilitates services and programs that support those affected by Celiac Disease and those who are managing a gluten-free diet. This is a multifaceted role that blends community programming, communications, and administrative leadership.
How you will make an impact
- Program & Event Delivery : Plan and execute year-round programming, including education groups, member socials, and fundraising events. As the go-to person, this includes sourcing gluten-free meals and managing onsite logistics.
- Communications : Support connection and engagement through the management and production of the Celiac Circular digital magazine. Oversee the editorial calendar, and maintain the Chapter’s website and social media presence (Facebook / Instagram).
- Assemble and Lead Teams : Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers. You will also provide functional supervision for students, contractors and staff as necessary.
- Finance and Office Administration : Provide finance administration support using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Zeffy, manage and respond to member inquiries, and ensure efficient and responsive office operations.
- Cultivating Relationships : Build and maintain collaborative and inclusive relationships with members, the Board, sponsors and donors.

Demonstrated experience coordinating programs / events (venues, vendors, volunteers, scheduling).Proficiency with Google Workspace (Calendar, Docs, Drive, Gemini, Gmail, Sheets).QuickBooks Online experience (data entry / coding; AR / AP support).Experience producing communications / publications and meeting deadlines (content coordination and production).Ability to lift / carry (up to 25 lbs) and set up program materials (reasonable physical demands).Proficiency as a Zoom presenter and meeting organizer.Proficiency in social media administration and promotion.Excellent member service and communication skills in written, verbal and public speaking, both online and in person.Excellent interpersonal skills and proven success in building inclusive environments and professional working relationships.Self-motivated and results-oriented with demonstrated success working unsupervised and in a collaborative team environment.Demonstrated success in managing multiple deadlines in a multidisciplinary environment.Experience developing and following project plans and budgets.Experience developing and maintaining process documentation.Preferred Assets
Knowledge of Celiac Disease and managing a gluten-free diet.Knowledge of registered charity or not-for-profit operations and requirements.Knowledge of donorship and payment platforms (e.g., Square, Zeffy, CanadaHelps, Fundscript).Familiarity with Artificial IntelligenceExperience using Canva graphic design software and in social media account management.What We Offer
Option to work hybrid from an approved offsite location (following the completion of the successful probationary period).On-site parking.Schedule and Compensation
Hours : 35 hours / week (up to 44 hours during peak periods in May / September).Schedule : Monday–Friday schedule; some weekends / evenings required for events.Wage : $26.00–$33.00 per hour (initial salary placement will be based on a review of related experience).Vacation : 4% vacation pay and an annual wage review based on performance and market alignment.Additional Role Requirements
Employment is conditional upon a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check.Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license required; travel to venues and transport of program materials is a requirement of this position; mileage reimbursed per policy.How to Apply
