Elder Care Provider Wanted - Vaughan, Ontario Elderly Care Provider Opportunity

Hi there. My name is Teresa. I'm seeking an elderly care provider available in Vaughan, Ontario for my mom who lives alone. She has early dementia, has some mobility issues walking due to arthritis and has lymphoma for which she is not requiring treatment at this time. I would like to start discussions with a careful individual experienced with dealing with dementia clients with live-in availability.

Services And Training :

Our family is looking for someone with experience taking care of someone with early dementia who requires help with administering medication in the morning and evening, personal care such as helping with dressing, dental care, exercising to alleviate pain due to arthritis, personal hygiene such as assistance going to the bathroom and changing disposable underwear, light housework and meal preparation. Ideally a live-in for a minimum of 3 or 4 days and nights is what we are looking for. Someone who speaks Italian is an asset but not a requirement. Someone with a driver's license would also be an asset but not mandatory.

We are willing to wait to find the right person that our mom and the family feels comfortable with and is compatible with our mom's outgoing personality. The applicant should also feel comfortable with taking care of our mom. We are also willing to have a test period that benefits both parties before committing to a long term agreement. Compatability and mutual trust and respect are key requirements for us.

Notes On Availability :

Someone who can start early in the new year after Christmas would be the approximate starting time. We can likely accommodate other availability if we find the right candidate.
