Our WINNIPEG BRANCH has an exciting opportunity for a TRUCK AND TRANSPORT MECHANIC to join our team!
What You Will Do :
The ideal candidate will be a Journeyman Truck and Transport Mechanic or 4th level apprentice that will primarily perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on trailers and some minor truck work. You will work with your team members to deliver a high-quality customer experience that exceeds customer expectations through the following tasks :
Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, and bearings
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, lighting systems, and associated parts
Repair or replace chassis components including springs, spring hangers, equalizers, axles, subframes and their associated parts, air bags and air system components
Repair or replace bumpers, bumper braces, mud flap brackets, dolly legs and dolly leg assemblies
Repair or replace decking, rub rails, doors and door trim, and perform minor repairs to roofs, panels, nose panels, lower and upper rails, and associated parts
Perform safety inspections
Repair and replace hydraulic pumps, safety valves and any other necessary mechanical components
Perform incidental welding operations on steel and / or aluminum trailers
Diagnose defects in light / heavy duty trucks and perform required mechanical services
Perform repairs & preventative maintenance services on heavy / medium trucks and trailers
Ensure documentation is complete and accurate
Other duties as assigned
What We Require :
The ideal candidate is a JOURNEYMAN TRUCK AND TRANSPORT MECHANIC or registered level 4 apprentice
License to perform safety inspections on trucks and trailers is preferred but not required
Demonstrated understanding of highway truck and automotive wiring
Previous hydraulic experience is preferred but not required
Must be able to meet the physical requirements : Lift up to 75lbs, able to work while kneeling / squatting and crouching, work at varying heights and enclosed areas
Must posses their own tools to complete tasks
Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard office equipment
Excellent customer service skills
Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal
Team-oriented, adaptable, with a commitment to safety excellence
