Our Ottawa Design team is looking for a full-time Designer of interior stairs & railing systems.

Stairs and railings are a focal point in people’s homes. In this role, you will help make the design vision a reality, working within the overall building design, project timeline and project budget.

Your day-to-day
- Design factory- built stairs using Staircon design software.
- Estimate stair and railing systems based on customer-provided plans and drawings
- Communicate with KOTT Sales, Production and Installation teams to complete estimates in accordance with project timelines
- Track work assignments using KOTT’s Enterprise Resource Management software
What you need to succeed
Experience & Education
- Experience as a Railing Estimator or Stair Designer is preferred, but other design or estimating experience in the residential construction industry will be considered.
- Architectural Technologist Diploma is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered
- Experience installing stairs or railings is a strong asset.
- Other framing or carpentry experience, or experience working on a construction site, is an asset
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency with Staircon stair design and AutoCAD software
- Strong general computer skills required, including experience with MS Office
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and drawings is mandatory
- Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code is an asset
- Fluency in English is required; fluency in French is an asset
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player
