The Galaxyland Night Shift Construction Coordinator is an entry‑level position that supports the Assistant Construction Site Superintendent and the Construction Project Manager with day‑to‑day tasks on a major amusement park attraction project in Galaxyland. This role helps keep the night shift running safely, efficiently, and in an organized way by assisting with site activities, helping ensure safety and quality standards are followed, coordinating with contractors, and supporting basic project paperwork and reporting. This full‑time contract position requires strong communication and organization skills, attention to safety, and the ability to help keep the project on schedule.
Primary Responsibilities
- Open the site at the start of each shift, including unlocking the main gate and doors to work areas.
- Replace and maintain the daily sign‑in sheet, filing previous sheets for records.
- Monitor site conditions through regular walk‑arounds, addressing issues proactively.
- Answer emails and raise questions regarding discrepancies or site concerns as needed.
- File safety documentation provided by contractors and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Conduct site orientations for new workers to ensure understanding of site rules and procedures.
- Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms, by evacuating workers, performing headcounts, and coordinating with security or building operations before re‑entry.
- Maintain site cleanliness, security, and housekeeping, and direct contractors on housekeeping responsibilities.
- Create, collate, and manage project‑related documents and reports as required.
- Perform checks to ensure QA / QC standards are maintained throughout the project.
- Organize site tasks in coordination with contractors and communicate scheduling needs to project leads.
- Issue work permits daily and collect them from the previous shift.
- Verify drilling, ensuring accuracy and documenting results with photographs.
- Notify building maintenance immediately if any damage occurs to structures, facilities, or equipment.
Desired Qualifications
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the construction industry with experience in project coordination and / or project execution, preferably in a commercial / industrial jobsite setting.CSTS 2020 and WHMIS certification considered an asset.Working knowledge of the construction industry requirements including setting project timelines, construction administration procedures.Direct experience with construction industry processes such as crane work / rigging, excavations, formwork / foundations are all assets for the role.Formalized training in a related trade or renovations‑based discipline with previous experience in project management as an asset.Understanding of construction / renovation project plans and specifications with the ability to read design plans, schematics, work orders, blueprints, etc.Exceptional project coordination and time‑management skills, strong computer and administrative abilities including experience with such programs as Excel, Word, Outlook and other e‑tracking systems as required.A high level of professional communication skills, confidence on the worksite, and the capability to work with various trades people, contractors, technical personnel, and engineers diplomatically in a public facing environment.A strong commitment to safety in the workplace with knowledge of proper worksite and OH&S industry protocols and requirements.Role Requirements
This full‑time, contract position requires flexibility for night shifts to support the project’s 7‑day a week operational needs.Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to potentially travel within the city area.Must be able to pass a security clearance and an NDA regarding the project specifications.Location : Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Salary : CA$120,000.00 – CA$145,000.00.
