Job Summary : The Apple Place is a unique retail destination that connects Norfolk County to locally grown apples through a diverse selection of apple varieties, baked goods, and a commitment to supporting local producers.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Manager to lead our team and contribute to the continued success of our store with a special focus on the procurement of local goods.

This role requires an individual who is humble, driven, and is solutions oriented. Humble Employees that are team players and are respectful of others and the job at hand.

Solutions Oriented Employees who focus on solving, and preventing problems from occurring, not just identifying them. This is equal parts of problems with systems and processes and t he common sense that an employee has about people.

They are aware, act appropriately, ask good questions, and listen to understand. Role and Accountability : Oversee inventory management, including ordering and replenishing stock, with a strong emphasis on supporting local producers.

Monitor cashflow and ensure accurate and secure handling of transactions. Develop and manage budgets to achieve financial targets.

Implement efficient purchasing processes that prioritize local suppliers. Implement inventory and sales tracking metrics to identify and monitor sales targets and inventory integrity.

Develop and execute advertising strategies that include the management of social media platforms as well as local advertising and community sponsorships.

Collaborate with local producers for joint marketing efforts and promotions. Analyze customer trends and feedback to enhance marketing strategies.

Ensure that a positive customer experience is provided at all times. Have a staffing and production plan that allows The Apple Place to participate in local events, markets, fairs, etc.

to increase community presence and store awareness. Manage local and small-scale wholesale apple sales through the Apple Place.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Recruit, train, and manage a team of retail and bakery staff by setting clear performance expectations and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment through strong leadership that meets company’s core values. Education and Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in retail management that can be applied in a similar setting such as a bakery or specialty grocery store.

Demonstrated success in overseeing day-to-day operations, managing teams, and achieving financial targets. Salary $60,000 Annually.
