Foothills School Division is currently seeking temporary Educational Assistants in various schools to support Indigenous learners.
The available positions are both full-time and part-time at 32.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) or 16.25 hours per week (0.5 FTE) These rewarding assignments are based on Jordan’s Principle grant funding and are anticipated to end in June 2024.
The preferred candidate will demonstrate capacity within their role to :
- Work as a collaborative team member to support Indigenous students in Foothills School Division with academic supports, social emotional supports, behavioral supports, and participation in cultural programs.
- Implement SLP, OT, and PT recommendations for students when necessary.
- Support complex needs of students in a flexible learning environment.
- Support cultural appreciation and understanding in a safe, caring and welcoming school environment.
- Creation of materials under the direction of the teacher to support the learning of identified students.
- Strong communication with classroom teachers regarding identified students.
- Contribute to the collection of data in support of the Jordan’s Principle grant.
School assignments may include :
C. Ian MacLaren School, Ecole Joe Clark School, Ecole Percy Pegler School, Ecole Highwood High School, Senator Riley School, Spitzee School, Westmount School, and Oilfields High School.
