Job descriptionCollaborate with architects, structural engineers, electrical teams, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated project delivery. Participate in design meetings, respond to technical queries, and support project managers as required. Conduct site reviews , prepare field reports, and verify contractor work for compliance with design intent. Review shop drawings , RFIs, change orders, and equipment submittals. Provide technical guidance during construction, ensuring quality and adherence to industry standards. Mentor junior designers and assist with training in drafting, modeling, and design methodology. Contribute to internal standards, workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives. Work toward assuming greater responsibility in project engineering and design leadership. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline. Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) designation with APEGA; eligibility for P.Eng registration. 5+ years of mechanical design experience in a consulting engineering or building design environment. Proficiency with Revit (MEP) , AutoCAD , Bluebeam , and relevant calculation tools (e.g., HAP). Strong knowledge of building codes , ASHRAE standards , and Alberta industry practices. Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Experience with healthcare, institutional, commercial, or mixed-use projects is required. Mechanical Designer / E.I.T. – Building Engineering

Salary : $75k - $90k + (Based on experience)
About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer / Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) . The ideal candidate brings strong technical design skills, experience delivering mechanical building systems across a range of project types, and the ambition to grow toward a senior designer or project engineer role. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects in the commercial, residential, institutional, and healthcare sectors within a collaborative, multidisciplinary consulting environment.
Mechanical Design & Engineering
- Design and develop mechanical building systems including HVAC , plumbing , and hydronic systems .
- Perform load calculations , equipment selection, ductwork and piping layouts, and system sizing.
- Prepare high-quality design drawings , models, and technical documentation using Revit MEP and AutoCAD .
- Assist in developing mechanical specifications , system narratives, and control sequences.
