Supply Chain and Procurement Specialist
Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Supply Chain Specialist ensures optimal production planning for the SRY plant and material flow management to achieve service level, inventory, and cost targets for the group. This role will require the development of advanced planning tools and analytics to improve forecast accuracy, mitigate risks, and enhance supply chain resilience. The Specialist collaborates across production, procurement, logistics, and sales to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Base Pay Range
$80,000.00 / yr - $80,000.00 / yr
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short, medium, and long-term production plans for Norex panels and steel embossing based on sales forecasts, priorities, constraints, and available capacity.
- Optimize production sequences to minimize changeovers and improve throughput.
- Analyze steel requirements for the entire group and submit purchasing and transfer recommendations to the rest of the team.
- Prepare reports and analyses to support decision-making (forecasts, capacity, scenarios). E.g., weekly steel report for the entire group.
- Manage purchase and transfer orders for chemicals and steel, ensuring compliance with lead times and cost objectives.
- Generate work orders for embossing at SRY.
- Implement contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks (supplier delays, demand fluctuations).
- Proactively participate in the continuous improvement of planning processes and tools (ERP, MRP).
- Manage priorities in the event of changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain.
- Monitor performance indicators (OTD, inventory turnover, forecast accuracy) and propose corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, sales and logistics teams to align priorities and resolve constraints.
- Ensure accurate inventory control through cycle counting and reconciliation processes.
- Contribute to sustainability goals by optimizing transport and reducing waste in planning processes.
- Support the purchasing team for other material category.
- Play an advisor / coach role on best inventory management practices with the operation team.
Education / Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position in a manufacturing organization.University degree in administration, supply chain, or another field related to procurement, combined with equivalent experience.Experience in the industrial manufacturing sector — an asset.Key Skills Required
