We are a dynamic team of scientists and engineers, navigating the fast-paced startup environment to constantly innovate and make an impact in the market.Job Description : Omniply is looking for a principal microLED scientist to join the R&D team and work on growth, fabrication, transfer and characterization of opto-electronic microdevices like LEDs for fabricating the next generation displays. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in nanotechnology, device physics, semiconductor processing and / or materials science with prior experience in working with microLEDs. Desired Skills : At least 2 years of hands-on experience either in industry or academia in growth, device fabrication, and characterization of microLEDs.Qualifications : Ph.D or Masters in electrical engineering, physics, material science, chemistry, engineering physics or related STEM fields.2+ years of experience in microLED growth, fabrication, characterization, and transfer techniquesExtensive knowledge and experience in material engineering and device physics needed for optoelectronic devices Self-motivated and creative / innovation.Data-driven with strong documentation and reporting skills.Good analytical / modeling skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Good communication skills.Responsibilities : Lead the development of transfer process flows and recipes for growth, fabrication, and transfer of microLEDs and other similar devicesInvestigation of the performances of microdevices used in display and semiconductor industry such as microLEDs, TFTs and others.Scope out patents and emerging technologies in the microLED space and create innovation strategiesHelp the managers in developing materials and process roadmapParticipate in the development of process conditions for Omniply’s products and able to create SOPs for different processes and experiment designing.Manage materials and process development projects.Effectively communicate the results to the Omniply’s managementDocument the results in comprehensive technical reportsJob Type : Full-timeBenefits : Company eventsDental careExtended health careLanguage training providedPaid time offVision careSchedule : Monday to FridayAbility to commute / relocate : Montréal, QC H4C 2K1 : reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Work Location : In person
