Job Description
Our client in the Mental Health industry is seeking a Digital Resource Design Specialist to join their team starting on an 11 week contract with potential of going long-term or permanent.
The ideal candidate will have experience in desktop publishing, video editing, and motion graphics development, with a strong understanding of accessibility standards (AODA compliance). Key Responsibilities :
Graphic Design & Infographics :
Create visually compelling infographics and graphic materials using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. Develop data visualizations that effectively present data in charts, graphs, and other formats, transforming data into engaging stories.
Multimedia Content Creation :
Design and produce whiteboard animations, motion graphics, and video content. Edit and produce videos, potentially including filming.
Accessibility & Compliance :
Ensure all resources and visual content are AODA compliant and accessible to individuals with disabilities. Review and format visualizations to meet accessibility standards, including the use of appropriate fonts and design elements for people with sight disabilities.
Resource Development & Implementation :
Develop various resources for both the general public and specific audiences such as clinicians and researchers. Work with community members to explain different implementation approaches, using videos and other media to gain buy-in and support.
Social Media & Campaigns :
Design and produce graphic content and data visualizations for social media campaigns. Support marketing and outreach efforts through the creation of digital assets.
Qualifications : Experience :
Experience :
Proven experience as a digital resource designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing infographics, data visualizations, and multimedia content.
Experience with whiteboard animation, motion graphics development, and video editing. Familiarity with tools such as switchboard, notepad, blackboard, and media / production tools.
Skills :
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), Canva, and other graphic design tools. Strong understanding of data visualization principles and techniques.
Knowledge of AODA standards and best practices for accessibility in design. Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex information in an accessible and engaging manner.
